Brittany Mabry is a dedicated Human Resources professional with expertise in Recruitment & Placement and Training & Development. With over 15 years of experience in the medical field and HR, she has developed a passion for building strong, efficient teams and creating meaningful learning experiences. She also holds a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification, which has helped her implement process improvements and enhance workforce development strategies.​

Her professional journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to service and advocacy. She has worked in both the public and private sectors, focusing on helping organizations attract top talent, streamline hiring processes, and develop impactful training programs. These experiences have strengthened her ability to create supportive environments where individuals can grow and thrive—values that directly influence her work at Pressing Forward Gracefully.

Brittany founded Pressing Forward Gracefully because she understands the profound challenges of growing up without a parent. After losing her mother at 13, she struggled to find the support and guidance she needed. That experience fuels her unwavering dedication to ensuring no child navigates grief alone. Her passion for advocacy also led her to serve as a Guardian Ad Litem, where she fought to amplify the voices of vulnerable children in the legal system.

Outside of her work, Brittany enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and cooking. She believes in the power of community, resilience, and meaningful connections to help children heal and thrive.
Britney Carter-Grimes is a seasoned leader with over 12 years of experience in military service, education, and caregiving. As a passionate advocate for empowering children through resilience and support, Britney brings a unique blend of expertise and enthusiasm to Pressing Forward Gracefully.

With a distinguished career in the United States Air Force, Britney held leadership positions such as Squadron Aviation Resource Manager (Superintendent), Military Training Leader (Non-commissioned Officer in Charge), Wing Scheduling Manager (Non-commissioned Officer in Charge), and Squadron Aviation Resource Manager. Her military service allowed her to develop essential leadership, training, and operational management skills.

In addition to her military career, Britney’s diverse background includes roles as a substitute teacher, 7th-grade teacher, GED instructor, in-home caregiver, and personal assistant. These varied experiences demonstrate her versatility, commitment to service, and natural ability to educate, mentor, and support others.

As Chief Financial Officer at Pressing Forward Gracefully, Britney oversees financial strategies, ensuring fiscal stability and the growth of our mission. Her analytical approach and dedication to sustainable financial practices help ensure the long-term success of the organization’s programs aimed at supporting children who have lost a parent.

Britney joined Pressing Forward Gracefully because she believes deeply in the transformative power of support for grieving children. Having spent her life mentoring, teaching, and caring for others, she is dedicated to ensuring children affected by loss receive the love, compassion, and guidance they deserve.

Outside of her professional roles, Britney is a devoted mother and wife. She enjoys spending quality time with her family and nurturing her passion for gardening. Avy Evans is a dynamic entrepreneur, author, and business strategist with over 14 years of experience in business development, marketing, and mentorship. As the Secretary of Pressing Forward Gracefully, Avy brings her creative vision and strategic expertise to support the organization’s mission of empowering grieving children.
With a diverse background spanning authorship, brand development, and business mentorship, Avy has made a lasting impact across multiple industries. She is the published author of Book of Letters and the founder of AYV.808BN, a specialized beauty brand serving 30 schools, two colleges, a trade school, and a correctional facility across Texas, Florida, and Georgia. Beyond her entrepreneurial ventures, Avy helps both emerging and established businesses grow, offering strategic guidance that fuels sustainable success.
Avy joined Pressing Forward Gracefully because she believes in the transformative power of support and mentorship. Through her volunteer work at shelters and with families in need, she has seen firsthand how confidence and care can change lives. By mentoring young women and empowering individuals to pursue their dreams, she continues to make a meaningful impact, aligning perfectly with the nonprofit’s mission to uplift grieving children.
